Senior BI Developer

Job Description

This team is looking for a consultant who can build Power BI reporting for their T-Suite portfolio (which covers a lot of financial business functions including contracting, LOEs and invoices, applications, time keeping, etc.).

This person will work with the teams FP&A business partners to understand reporting requests and priorities. Business partners sit in Bellevue or Overland Park. This person will participate in daily discussions to gather and understand reporting requirements.

They must be able to transform (via SQL script) the T-Suite data to make it consumable by Power BI.

They must have SQL coding skills so that they can write the SQL, ingest data into Power BI and then from there build the Power BI reports.

This person will be responsible for creating a range of Power BI reports (from fairly rudimentary to complex reports) for a variety of audiences, including executives.

For this project the SQL backend is built on Azure Cloud (Azure SQL Server).

This person needs to be able to address bandwidth issues if they come upnot just say yes to every request and then underdeliver but have conversations around what are the top priorities which can be delivered during the allotted timeframe.

This team works in an Agile environment with 2-week sprints and monthly deliveries.

They are looking for someone who can come in, ramp quickly and help drive down their current backlog.

Skills and Requirements

3-5 years of applicable experience

Experience with complex financial models (Forecast, Accounts Payable, Contract/Agreement for labor, LOE, and invoice).

Ability to understand financial models, ask critical questions (why are we building these reports? What business problems are we trying to solve for?)

Power BIAbility to create various levels of reports that may include filters, visualizations and graphics, detailed grids and interactive dashboards.

SQLability to write queries that will summarize the data and make it easy for Power BI to ingest it.

Strong communication skills and ability to set expectations (not just an order taker but able to evaluate stakeholder priorities and address bandwidth when needed).

Strong understanding of Agile best practices and standards

Experience of requirements refinement and solution design. Familiarity with JIRA would be extremely helpful
