This position is responsible for the reconciliation of assigned bankcard process for transactions generated in-store and across e-commerce platforms. Performs daily and monthly bankcard, PLCC, gift card and lease provider balancing routines and researches exception transactions, discrepancies, and responds to chargeback notices. In addition, this position initiates customer bankcard refunds and maintains merchant account numbers for store openings/closures. This position may work with multiple currencies and is expected to work to key metrics and critical dates to ensure timely and accurate deliverables.



KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Downloads daily bankcard and PLCC provider financial statements and completes the daily settlement balancing entries. Downloads provider sales slip retrieval requests and chargeback notices for review and research. Tracks, researches and prepares corrects for bankcard exceptions including initiating customer bankcard refunds where appropriate. Downloads, tracks, and formats gift card data and outstanding liability and maintains merchant account numbers for store openings/closures.
  • Assists with special projects / initiatives as needed. These types of projects would commonly encompass supporting new provider implementations and enhancements as well as in support of new business processes.


POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-2 years of related experience (in finance/banking/retail preferably) OR accounting/financial related college education in lieu of experience
  • Proficient in Excel (intermediate level - v lookups, formulas, generating reconciliation spreadsheets from scratch, etc.), as well as Microsoft Suite
  • Familiar with financial systems (SAP, Oracle, Lawson, etc.) and terminology including SOX, PCI, and bankcard portals
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in all assigned tasks
  • Demonstrates a customer-first mindset while supporting business objectives
  • Effective verbal and written communication both internally and externally to customers
  • Builds positive working relationships across departments

This position requires a candidate to be on-site for our hybrid in-office days out of the Akron, OH office only.
