Senior Backend Software Engineer who is eager to leverage data and emerging technologies to drive significant change.
Capital One is investing heavily in the modernization of our core platforms, and we're forming new teams tasked with working on the latest technologies. As part of the Bank Modernization teams within Bank Tech, you will play a key role in the design and development of critical components for our new core platform. Your work will involve collaboration with cross-functional teams, fostering innovation that enhances business operations, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do: - Lead a diverse portfolio of technology projects, guiding a team of skilled developers in creating solutions that meet regulatory requirements.
- Stay abreast of emerging tech trends, explore new technologies, and engage with both internal and external tech communities, while mentoring fellow engineers.
- Work collaboratively with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys.
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Node.js, SQL, Python, and Go, as well as Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, along with container orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and a variety of AWS services.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree.
- At least 4 years of experience in software engineering (note: internship experience does not count).
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing environments (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud).
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree.
- 7+ years of experience in languages such as Java, Node.js, SQL, Python, or Go.
- 3+ years of experience with cloud services (AWS, GCP, Microsoft Azure, etc.).
- 4+ years of experience in open-source frameworks.
- 1+ years of experience in people management.
- 2+ years of familiarity with Agile methodologies.

Annual salaries for this role range from $175,800 to $200,700, depending on location. This role is also eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
