Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) encompasses some of Capital One's most vital systems. We are instrumental in establishing best practices for technology solutions across the organization while delivering capabilities that exemplify these practices.
What You'll Be Doing: - Lead a variety of exciting technology projects and manage a team of experienced developers skilled in distributed microservices and full-stack systems, creating solutions to fulfill the company's regulatory requirements.
- Stay on top of industry tech trends and share your passion for learning about new technologies. Engage with internal and external tech communities, mentor fellow engineers, and occasionally contribute to coding or code evaluations.
- Collaborate closely with digital product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans in their financial journeys.
- Utilize programming languages such as Java, Go, Python, SQL, and more, as well as Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Container Orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes, and a range of AWS services.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience is not applicable)
- At least 1 year of experience with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree
- 7+ years of expertise in at least one of the following: Java, Python, Apache Camel, SQL, or Go
- 2+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, Azure, or similar
- 4+ years of experience with open source frameworks
- 1+ years of experience in managing people
- 2+ years of experience with Agile methodologies
This role is based in McLean, VA, with a salary range of $193,400 - $220,700 for the Lead Software Engineer position. Please note that this salary information is for candidates hired in this location. Those hired in other locations will have salaries based on the relevant location.
In addition to salary, this position is eligible for performance-based incentives, which may include bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
