As a Senior Backend Software Engineer, you'll play a crucial role in driving transformative technology initiatives at Capital One.

In the Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) division, we focus on building essential enterprise platforms that set the standard for developing technology solutions across the organization. Your contributions will directly influence the capabilities we deliver.

What You'll Have the Opportunity to Do:
  • Collaborate effectively within Agile teams to design, develop, test, and implement full-stack technical solutions.
  • Stay ahead of tech trends, engage with new technologies, and mentor other engineers in the community.
  • Partner with digital product managers to create cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans financially.
  • Utilize programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, alongside Open Source RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and a suite of AWS tools.
  • Manage applications with high traffic demands, ensuring exceptional performance and availability.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience (internships not included).
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in Java 8+, SpringBoot, and REST API development.
  • 2+ years of experience with AWS, Azure, or another cloud service.
  • 1+ years of experience in serverless programming with AWS Lambda or Azure Functions.
  • 2+ years of experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CodeDeploy.
  • 2+ years of experience with log aggregation tools such as Splunk or ElasticSearch.
  • 2+ years of experience using monitoring tools like New Relic or Datadog.
  • 2+ years of experience with open source frameworks like Apache Camel and Kafka.
  • 2+ years of experience working in Agile methodologies.

The hiring range for this role is between $158,600 and $181,000, based on location and experience. Compensation also includes performance-based incentives, such as cash bonuses and long-term incentives. Capital One offers a comprehensive benefits package supporting your overall well-being.
