We are on the lookout for a Senior Back End Software Engineer to join our Enterprise Platforms Technology (EPTech) team. This role is crucial as we develop and maintain many of Capital One's key enterprise platforms, and you will help establish best practices while delivering high-quality technology solutions.
What You Will Do: - Work collaboratively with Agile teams to design, develop, test, implement, and support innovative technical solutions using full-stack development tools and technologies.
- Stay ahead of tech trends; experiment with and adopt new technologies while actively participating in internal and external tech communities.
- Mentor fellow engineers, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance our engineering community.
- Collaborate closely with product managers to deliver robust cloud-based solutions that empower millions of customers on their financial journeys.
- Leverage programming languages such as Java, Python, SQL, Node.js, Go, and Scala, alongside open-source databases and cloud services like AWS.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- A minimum of 3 years of professional software engineering experience (Internship experience does not apply).
Preferred Qualifications: - 5+ years of experience with languages such as Java, Scala, Python, Go, or Node.js.
- 1+ years of experience with cloud services like AWS, GCP, or Azure.
- 3+ years of experience in using open source frameworks.
- 2+ years of experience practicing Agile methodologies.
This position is located at our office in McLean, VA, with a salary range of $158,600 - $181,000 for the Senior Software Engineer role. For Richmond, VA, the range is $144,200 - $164,600. This role is also eligible for performance-based compensation, including cash bonuses and long-term incentives.
