The Cloud Operations Resilience Engineering (CORE) Technology division is pivotal in advancing Capital One's foundational cloud infrastructure. We focus on observability, connectivity, resilience, and availability. Our Cloud Data & Communications Enablement team aims to provide innovative and robust data solutions across the enterprise while ensuring a well-managed data environment.
Your Role: - Lead diverse technology projects and oversee a team of developers skilled in distributed microservices and full-stack systems.
- Create solutions that align with regulatory requirements.
- Stay updated with technology trends; share your knowledge with others and mentor future engineers.
- Collaborate with digital product managers to deliver powerful cloud-based solutions that enhance financial opportunities for millions of Americans.
- Utilize various programming languages including Java, Python, SQL, Node, Go, and Scala, along with tools like Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS services.
Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum of 4 years of professional software engineering experience (internship experience does not count)
- At least 1 year of experience in cloud computing (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud)
Preferred Qualifications: - Master's Degree
- Over 5 years of experience in Java or Python
- 2+ years of experience with a cloud service, such as AWS, GCP, or Azure
- 1+ years of experience with AWS datastores like RDS, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, or Redshift

This role is based at our McLean, VA office with a salary range of $193,400 - $220,700, or at our Plano, TX office with a salary range of $175,800 - $200,700. Please note that these figures reflect the compensation offered at the time of this posting, and different locations may have varying pay ranges.
