The Position
Provide legal counsel to Novo Nordisk on relevant issues involving application of US law, regulations & industry standards. Support Product Supply (PS) site in Bloomington, IN. Position will be located in site in Bloomington, IN, with focus on contract/transactional work, business ethics, employment law & corporate governance. Interact regularly with Novo Nordisk US commercial affiliate Legal & NNI Ethics & Compliance teams, as well the Global Legal Product Safety legal network.

This role will report to a leader in site management.
Essential Functions
Partner with NNI US HQ Legal (Princeton, NJ), plus regular interaction with Corporate Legal HQ in DenmarkPartner with department colleagues & various departments within Novo NordiskDevelop Key Stakeholder relationshipsKeep informed of new laws, regulations & industry trends affecting the company & assist with development of policies & training, as neededProvide advice & training as necessary concerning relevant company policies, including those pertaining to business ethics & various laws & regulations relevant to companyContract drafting & negotiation - draft, review & negotiate contracts, particularly service agreements, construction-related agreements & consulting agreements; advise internal stakeholders on contractual issuesAdvise company on employment law mattersAssist with corporate governance-related tasks & coordinate with NNI US Legal (Princeton, NJ) on corporate issuesIdentify legal & compliance risks & advise managementPerform & support internal investigations assigned by the Audit Committee SecretariatSupport processes that ensure legal & compliance executionManage external legal counsel within agreed budgetsInteract with external stakeholders & advise Novo Nordisk departments regarding interactions with government officials & local government agenciesFollow all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of dutiesOther accountabilities, as assignedPhysical Requirements
Ability to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Ability to travel up to 10% of the time.
Qualifications
Advanced Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited university, requiredMinimum of six (6) years of legal experience, requiredExperience within the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry, preferredExperience with Good Manufacturing Practices, Pharmaceutical Quality & related topics, preferredExperience with complex contracting/transactional work & corporate governance, preferredExperience with employment-related legal issues, preferredExperience with managing litigation, preferredStrong problem-solving skills, preferredWe commit to an inclusive recruitment process and equality of opportunity for all our job applicants.
