Job Title: Senior Associate, Origination
Location: San Francisco, CA (on-site)
Position Overview:
We've taken on an amazing opportunity with a San Francsico based holding company specializing in acquiring and managing technology service businesses worldwide. As a Senior Associate in Origination, you'll play a key role in driving deal flow from inception to LOI, collaborating closely with both execution and operations teams through all phases of the deal process. You'll take ownership of everything from initial outreach to founders and inbound leads from brokers and bankers. You will have the chance to travel to conferences, attend trade shows, and have budget for travel and other means to help achieve team goals.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform company and industry research, evaluating and uncovering investment opportunities through monitoring market trends.
- Conduct initial outreach producing qualified deal leads.
- Prepare financial models and schedules to present company performance to the internal investment committee.
- Serve as the main point of contact for sourced deals, facilitating communication with sellers, advisors, and key stakeholders.
- Develop, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with sellers, bankers, and brokers
- Negotiate LOIs
- Collaborate with other associates in deal sourcing and support early execution phases alongside the deal team.
Qualifications:
- 4-8 years of Origination/Deal Sourcing: with experience in closing deals,
- Background: prior work for a holding company, investment bank or private equity firm in similar capacity.
- Market Research: skills to evaluate target companies through initial due diligence.
- Financial Literacy: proficient in reading financial statements assessing company's performance.
- Strong Communication Skills: high level of character and comfortable engaging with a multitude of audiences.
- Fortitude: bring a high level of intensity, grit and entrepreneurial drive.
