We offer an attractive commission compensation in addition to the salary, health insurance, PTO, hybrid in office and remote work, and nonelective 401(k) and profit sharing to eligible employees.
Compensation:$150,000
Responsibilities:- Prepare and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.
- Develop settlement agreements and other legal correspondence.
- Answer and object to discovery requests.
- Oversee the discovery process, ensuring compliance and thoroughness.
- Take and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts.
- Analyze deposition transcripts to identify key information.
- Conduct in-depth legal research to support case strategies.
- Stay updated on changes in personal injury law and related statutes.
- Argue motions in court, including motions to dismiss, summary judgment, and evidentiary motions.
- Prepare and file appellate briefs when necessary.
- Conduct investigations to gather evidence, including interviewing witnesses and experts.
- Collaborate with investigators and experts to build case theories.
- Participate in trials, including jury selection, opening statements, examination of witnesses, and closing arguments.
- Manage trial exhibits and coordinate with support staff during proceedings.
- Lead the development and implementation of case strategies.
- Assess case strengths and weaknesses to advise clients effectively.
- Engage in settlement discussions and negotiations with opposing counsel.
- Evaluate settlement offers and advise clients on potential outcomes.
- Effectuate settlement disbursements, ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards.
- Prepare and review final settlement statements.
- Ensure settlement is done accurately for clients
- Reach weekly, quarterly and annual individual and law firm deliverable and financial goals
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and managing expectations.
- Offer legal advice and counsel to clients throughout the litigation process.
- Depending on qualifications, oversee and mentor junior attorneys and support staff.
- Delegate tasks effectively and provide guidance on complex legal issues.
- Manage case files, ensuring all documents are organized and accessible.
- Ensure compliance with court deadlines and procedural requirements.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with legal trends and best practices.
- Participate in seminars, workshops, and legal conferences.
Qualifications:- Active member in good standing with local and state bar associations
- Excellent time management and interpersonal skills are required, as well as persuasive writing and verbal communication skills
- Able to work independently while handling multiple files
- Applicants must have trial, mediation, and arbitration representation experience
- JD and Texas Bar Admission
- At least 5 years of civil litigation experience
