For this U.S. based position, the expected compensation range is $112,000-$168,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our salary ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the salary range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. The primary responsibilities of this position will be to successfully provide quotations for routine and complex Protection/Controls and Automation (PCA) opportunities. As a Senior Application Engineer, you will develop appropriate solutions for customer challenges, route quotation requests to appropriate resources, develop/improve/implement processes, and mentor junior support personnel. This role will interact with commercial teams, project execution teams, end customers, and engineering management on a regular basis.
Developing customer solutions includes creating a scope of work to meet/exceed customer expectations, developing appropriate costing with recommended pricing, and building quotations documents that accurately describe the proposed process while limiting risk. Quotation routing includes determine appropriate resource and gathering additional data as needed. This role will ensure current procedures are followed and utilize past experience to identify and implement improvements. Mentoring junior personnel includes developing technical and soft skills required to effectively perform this position.
A successful Senior Application Engineer will create accurate quotations in a timely manner while building the competency of junior engineers. This role will engage in close collaboration with both sales and operations as needed to create accurate solutions.
The individual in this position will: - Utilize commercial and technical knowledge of electrical controls equipment to assist with the preparation of services quotations for services sales efforts a region.
- Provide technical consultation to customers building a trusted advisor relationship.
- Develop and maintain a high technical and commercial competency for relevant offers.
- Must possess the ability to interact with sales teams and customers to obtain the requirements/scope and ensures that the quote is technically compatible by communicating with the Services Sales and Consulting Operations teams.
- Develop and maintain cross functional expertise with all elements of Schneider PCA offers.
- Will be accountable for providing the necessary technical support to the Solution Specialist on Electrical Protection/Control and Automation Systems.
- Ensure all quotations and documents are correctly completed and archived from Solutions Specialist.
- Must work closely with Sales in a team atmosphere to accomplish their sales quotation objectives.
- Work closely with the Customer Product and Services teams on assignment of service request from our sales teams.
- Collaborate with the Solutions Specialist on large or complex quotes.
- Train and mentor others.
- Minimum of 5 years' experience as an Electrical Engineer and BSEE or MSEE.
- Preferred candidate will have knowledge and experience in electrical products such as Power Controls and Automation equipment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
- Desire to grow/develop and a passion for customers.
- The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated team player with good time management, verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively utilize company software programs/collaborative tools and can manage several tasks simultaneously.
