Position: Senior Application Developer

We are seeking a Senior Application Developer for one of our financial sector clients. The ideal candidate must have the following qualifications:

- Experience: At least six (6) years of experience with technologies used in financial institutions, including Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.

- Leadership Abilities: Experience in leadership and people management, with a focus on coaching, mentoring, guiding, and motivating team members in project/product delivery and their professional development.

- Influencing Skills: Ability to influence executive leadership.

- Project Management Knowledge: Understanding of project management principles in agile and iterative methodologies.

Position Details:

- Location: Hybrid position based in Broomfield, CO.

Summary/Objective:

The Application Development Manager is responsible for designing, building, implementing, and supporting both vendor-packaged and custom internal solutions that enhance the core banking platform (Symitar) and other enterprise applications. This role aligns with our strategic plan and technology roadmap. The manager leads the design, development, and delivery of business solutions aimed at optimizing operational efficiency through technology.

Key responsibilities include overseeing a team of core developers and collaborating with business units and internal IT teams to deliver enterprise solutions that meet the organization's operational needs, utilizing software delivery best practices. The ideal candidate should possess excellent problem-solving abilities, a strong software engineering discipline, and knowledge in Symitar PowerOn. They should be self-motivated, creative, agile, and accountable, balancing efficiency with effectiveness while demonstrating strong analytical and interpersonal skills.

Essential Functions:

- Manage and supervise the core development team across scrum teams and business lines, overseeing resource administration, planning, allocation, and organization as needed.

- Collaborate closely with the Enterprise Project Management Office (PMO) on team delivery and participate in relevant stakeholder ceremonies.

- Foster a supportive, team-oriented work environment that promotes professional development, values diversity, encourages teamwork and collaboration, and emphasizes quality, customer satisfaction, creativity, and cost-effectiveness.

- Demonstrate expertise and leadership in design and development concepts, practices, procedures, and governance, ensuring the delivery of high-quality and efficient software solutions.

- Implement processes for continuous improvement in application management practices, seeking feedback from users, analyzing performance metrics, and identifying areas for enhancement or innovation.

- Define design patterns, review code, and ensure that solutions adhere to Elevations coding, compliance, and information security standards.

- Collaborate with external vendors for integrated solutions, staying informed about vendor strategic roadmaps to influence the health and currency of our application architecture.
