Our client, a stealth-mode startup backed by leading investors, is redefining human-computer interaction through next-gen wearable tech. Your mission? To blend robotics, AR, and advanced data systems into a seamless user experience. We're looking for a Senior Android Developer with deep C expertise to take ownership of their Android app and bring their Spatial SDK-powered headset into a production-ready state.
What You'll Do:
- Own and evolve the Android app that powers a next-gen AR/robotics headset.
- Work directly with the Spatial SDK (recently launched by Meta) and push the boundaries of what's possible in Android AR experiences.
- Lead development of low-level recording and instruction features used in data collection workflows.
- Build with C at the core, using Android NDK, JNI, and native app components.
- Optimize performance and stability across a variety of Android hardware and custom wearable form factors.
- Collaborate closely with robotics, hardware, and AI teams to create a highly integrated system.
- Lay groundwork for future enhancements, including Unity-based experiences (nice-to-have for future roadmap).
What You'll Bring:
- 4+ years of experience developing consumer-grade Android apps, ideally with a focus on performance, stability, and native integrations.
- Expert-level C , particularly in Android environments-NDK, JNI, and native rendering or hardware integration.
- Strong background in Android Native Development and Android system-level programming.
- Hands-on experience with Java and Kotlin (used alongside native components).
- Bonus: Exposure to Android 3D/AR applications or even Android game development.
- Extra Bonus: Unity, Spatial SDK, or familiarity with AR frameworks.
