Job Title : Senior Advanced Engineering Technician Location: Florham Park, NJ Wage Range: 50-52 Job Number: 25-02912 Job Description: Our client, a large defense contractor, has an immediate opening for a Senior Advanced Engineering Technician to work from their Florham Park, NJ facility. The Senior Advanced Engineering Technician will act as a leader and mentor to new technicians in the support of engineering activities such as designing, testing, checking-out, modification, fabrication and assembly of prototype electro mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, laser/light transmission devices or specialized test equipment. This may entail performing the following: Interprets complex engineering drawings, diagrams and schematics, and understand the necessary interfaces Performs complex system level troubleshooting to component level Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts or defined plans to perform testing, checkout and troubleshooting functions Lays out, builds, calibrates, adjusts, installs and maintains equipment, components, devices or systems Proficiency in fiber splicing, handling, and management Proficiency in optical testing and measurements Willingness to travel regularly out of state to third party test facilities Qualifications: Associate's degree in related discipline or equivalent is required plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience. CLEARANCE REQUIREMENTS: Applicants selected may be subject to a U.S. Government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Due to the nature of work performed within our facilities, U.S. citizenship is required.
