Position Description St. Johns County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an Senior Administrative Coordinator for our well established Human Resources Department whose headquarters are located in beautiful St. Augustine, Florida.

The St. Johns County Human Resources Department is responsible for developing strategic partnerships and collaboration to attract, develop and retain a high performing workforce and promote a healthy, safe and productive work environment for its employees, departments, community partners and the public with the intent to position St Johns County as an employer of choice.
The newly selected Senior Administrative Coordinator will provide direct administrative support for the Human Resources Department's operations and programs.
Examples of Duties The ideal Senior Administrative Coordinator candidate must possess St. Johns County's core values of Dedication, Openness, Adaptability, Visionary, Fiscal Responsibility, Integrity, and Humility. Some of the specific tasks include but are not limited to:
- Provides routine and complex administrative support to the director (may include but is not limited to travel arrangements, scheduling, agenda packets, attending meetings, drafting correspondence, developing presentations and reports).
- Coordinates the administrative function of the Department (may include but is not limited to accounts payable/receivable, budget preparation, procurement bids, vendor change orders).
- Coordinates and oversees support for countywide database systems (may include but is not limited to payroll, human resources employee personnel action changes, PAN, PRIDE, WATS, work orders, mass notification systems).
- Handles inquiries, complaints, and requests; tracks issues and resolutions and provides assistance regarding specific matters within area of expertise in resolving complex inquiries and complaints.
- Coordinates operating function of office (may include but is not limited to inventories, general office management, or equipment).
- Assists department senior leadership with confidential/sensitive materials related to political issues, personnel matters, and/or criminal records or other sensitive issues requiring a high degree of judgement, tact and diplomacy.
Minimum Qualifications Candidates for the Senior Administrative Coordinator are encouraged to apply if they meet the following minimum qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent recognized certification.
- Minimum of three years of responsible administrative work experience supporting upper-level senior management.
- A Certified Administrative Professional (CAP) certificate or Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) certificate is preferred.
- Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver's license and any other endorsements necessary to legally operate vehicles used while assigned to this position.
- Must possess good interpersonal and communication skills in order to serve others.
- Must be able to comprehend, speak and write the English language.
- Must be able to operate a computer.
