POSITION: Senior Acquisition Specialist LOCATION: El Segundo, CA REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE: Active TS with SCI eligibility POSITION TYPE/STANDARD WORK HOURS: Full time, 40 hours THE OPPORTUNITY: Upon award, BTAS will be filling potential openings for the Space Systems Command (SSC). SSC plays a critical role in advancing the United States's space capabilities, delivering cutting-edge solutions to protect and enhance national security. SSC/SZBC specializes in highly classified Space Domain Awareness (SDA) systems, Defensive and Offensive Space Control (DSC/OSC) capabilities, and space test range assets to support the Department of Defense's (DoD) current and future operational needs. As a leader in space technology, SSC/SZ-BC is responsible for the development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of mission-critical systems spanning the entire acquisition life cycle. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical support for space acquisitions, engineering, operations, and program management throughout the acquisition lifecycle. Support acquisition efforts for advanced technology, concept development, and system integration. Advise on cost, schedule, and performance to assist government decision-making. Draft and revise acquisition documentation, including JCIDS documents, Acquisition Strategies, Concept of Operations, Technical/System Requirements, and other program-related materials, ensuring compliance with the latest government standards (e.g., MIL-STD). Prepare technical and programmatic reports on individual programs or the overall portfolio in coordination with government program managers. Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance acquisition efficiency, reduce risks, and improve technical, organizational, or programmatic aspects. Support risk management and mitigation planning. Assist with financial management, including tracking obligations, expenditures, and funding distribution for classified programs. Support Planning, Programming, Budgeting, and Execution (PPBE), congressional reporting, fiscal year planning, and Program Objective Memorandum (POM) development. Perform earned value management and schedule analysis to assess program contractor cost and performance. Support Integrated Baseline Reviews and Business Financial Reviews. Monitor program schedules and acquisitions, report requirement shortfalls, and maintain updated acquisition reports by correlating execution data with program baselines. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Experience with program management for ACAT-like weapon systems, in particular managing the planning, programming, budgeting and execution of funds Highly knowledgeable in the fields of Space Force financial management Prior program management or finance experience At least 10 years' experience in this type of position or program is required. MA/MS or MBA degree required; however, a BA/BS degree is acceptable if the candidate possesses at least 12 years of experience in this type of position or program. The Materiel Leader may also waive the MA/MS requirement. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position does not supervise the work of others. WORK ENVIRONMENT: This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to operate a computer and other standard office equipment. Must be able to remain in a stationary position, 80%. TRAVEL: Little if any travel is required. This is a Full-Time, Salary, Exempt position.
