Our client, a 75-year old family-owned company, with various businesses under their Corporate umbrella, in partnership with Conexus Recruiting, seeks a talented Senior Accounting Manager to join their Corporate Finance and Accounting Team. This role is a newly created role due to growth.

Job Title: Senior Accounting Manager
Location: Long Beach, California
Job Status (direct hire, consulting, consulting with possibility of hire) - This role is a direct hire role.
Job Site Status (onsite/hybrid/remote) - Our client has an onsite work status.
Compensation - Salary range is $140,000 to $170,000/year. Our client offers health insurance, 401(k) plan, and paid time off (PTO), amongst other benefits.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Accounting
- Oversee month-end closes of the General Ledger (G/L).
- Prepare balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
- Maintain accurate financial records and statements for numerous management company entities.
- Generate financial statements for upper management.
Accounting Operations
- Spearhead finance transformation initiatives with each of the divisional accounting teams
- In conjunction with the Corporate Controller, lead technical accounting research as it relates to each of the division businesses
Compliance and Controls
- Support executives with all external audits, including preparing necessary documentation and answering all questions.
- Ensure all accounting processes follow Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
Miscellaneous
- Accept all relevant tasks as given by upper management.
QUALIFICATIONS OF THE SENIOR ACCOUNTING MANAGER
Required
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a comparable major.
- CPA
- At least eight (8) years of progressive accounting experience.
- At least three (3) years of supervisory/managerial experience.
Preferred
- Prior work experience at a public accounting firm before transitioning to private industry.
- Prior work experience at a Big 4 (note that our client will consider people who have ONLY worked at a Big 4 firm)
- Prior employment at a construction company.
