Harmer has been engaged by our client in the manufacturing industry to identify a Senior Accounting Manager.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Management:

  • Lead all accounting and financial reporting operations across a multi-site manufacturing business
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure bill of materials is accurate

Budgeting and Forecasting:

  • Develop and manage annual budgets, providing regular forecasts to inform strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with department heads to align financial plans with organizational goals.

Team Leadership:

  • Supervise and mentor a team of accounting professionals, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Provide training and development opportunities to enhance team skills and knowledge.

Compliance and Reporting:

  • Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards, laws, and regulations.
  • Coordinate and support internal and external audits, implementing recommendations as necessary.

Process Improvement:

  • Evaluate existing accounting processes and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy, especially as it relates to ERP system updates
  • Stay updated on industry best practices and integrate relevant advancements into daily operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • 10-15+ years of accounting experience, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership capacity, foundation in external audit is advantageous
  • Experience supporting manufacturing business is required
  • Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, and team leadership.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite; experience with ERP systems is a plus.
