ABOUT THE POSITION
As a Senior Accounting Manager, you will be an integral part of our growing Finance team. This role will have an immediate impact on our daily operations, month-end, and overall reconciliation process. The successful candidate will be highly analytical and able to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment. This position reports to the Controller and will lead a team of Accountants.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare close timelines, check lists and processes to support a quick, accurate and efficient closing of the company's books on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis. This includes performing monthly accounting close activities, including but not limited to GL account flux analyses, account reconciliations, and journal entries
- Manage the close process to ensure all the necessary postings are made
- Perform the month over month analysis on the balance sheet and income statement and provide explanations for material variances
- Oversee and manage Accounts Payable and Corporate Credit Cards
- Assist team members with issues that arise as a part of the daily accounting tasks
- Identify opportunities to drive efficiencies and process improvements in the financial close process
- Assist with tax compliance (sales/use tax, franchise tax, property taxes, personal property renditions etc.)
- Collaborate with other departments to maintain financial records and system processes (Media, IT, client partnerships, etc.)
- Protect assets by establishing, monitoring, and enforcing internal controls
- Maintain knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
- Create and document standard operating procedures for book close and overall internal financials controls
- Special projects and other duties as assigned
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is a must; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years' experience in job related role showing progressive growth in responsibilities.
- Excellent knowledge of GAAP, accounting processes, and controls.
- Experience in a multi-subsidiary environment.
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, self-starter with the ability to work independently and within a team environment.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications. Intermediate Excel skills required (vlookup, sumifs, etc.).
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to communicate analytically with all levels of personnel and management.
- Experience with NetSuite or other advanced ERP System preferred.
