As a Senior Analyst, you'll be at the center of the accounting process, working closely with internal stakeholders and hotel finance teams to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely financial reporting. What You'll Be Doing
Accounting & Close Activities
- Lead the monthly close process for several core hotel assets in compliance with US GAAP, local accounting standards, and company policies.
- Record journal entries, perform reconciliations, and conduct variance analyses against prior periods and forecasts.
- Analyze hotel operating activity, including the accurate recording of fees, intercompany charges, and lease expenses.
- Collaborate with hotel finance teams and third-party managers to review and validate operational and ownership balance sheet accounts.
Ownership Accounting
- Track and account for ownership expenses such as real estate taxes, insurance, and ground leases.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of legal agreements to ensure compliance and minimize risk across accounting activities.
- Partner with departments such as Legal, Tax, Asset Management, and Investments to ensure transactions are accurately reflected in financial records.
Project & Fixed Asset Accounting
- Oversee the capitalization of hotel projects, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policy.
- Manage fixed asset accounting, depreciation schedules, and the timely transfer of assets from Construction in Progress (CIP) to active service.
Financial & Regulatory Reporting
- Prepare consolidated financial statements for quarterly and annual SEC filings and support external reporting to regulators and lenders.
- Contribute to the preparation of the company's earnings releases and investor-facing materials in collaboration with Investor Relations and FP&A.
- Ensure compliance with all US GAAP and regulatory disclosure requirements.
Team Leadership & Cross-Functional Engagement
- Support and mentor junior team members; help foster a culture of accuracy, accountability, and growth.
- Coordinate audit-related requests and assist with internal control documentation and audit preparation.
- Lead or contribute to special projects such as hotel acquisitions, divestitures, or debt refinancing.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- Minimum 3 years of accounting experience.
- Proficiency with general ledger systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
- Willingness to travel up to 10% and work extended hours as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation or Master's degree in Accounting/Finance.
- 5-7 years of accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities.
- Experience in corporate accounting, hospitality, or real estate investment trusts (REITs).
