Job Details

We are seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Senior Accountant to oversee key financial functions, including sales tax reconciliations, journal entries, inventory accounting, and financial audits. This role requires a proactive professional with strong analytical skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and update sales tax exemption certificates in the company portal.
  • Reconcile monthly sales tax returns and ensure accurate tax coding.
  • Process sales tax credits and rebills.
  • Prepare and submit manual invoices and credit memos.
  • Record and post journal entries for month-end close.
  • Reconcile inventory and other balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Manage vendor information for accounts payable.
  • Calculate and process monthly customer rebates.
  • Track and report on fixed assets and other financial metrics.
  • Review and reconcile open commission reports.
  • Handle unclaimed property submissions and compliance.
  • Conduct accounting research and determine proper financial applications.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
  • Support interim and annual financial statement audits.
  • Develop and maintain accounting policies as needed.
  • Provide training and guidance to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
  • Minimum of 5+ years experience in an accounting or financial analysis role.
  • Strong understanding of inventory and cost accounting principles.
  • Knowledge of internal controls and accrual accounting.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-volume environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • ERP system experience.
  • Strong critical thinking and process improvement mindset.
  • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and confidence.
