Senior Accountant
Reports To: CFO
Location: North Haven, fully on-site
Salary: $85-100k

Responsibilities of Senior Accountant:
- Financial Reporting - Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, including balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow position.
- General Ledger Management - Oversee and manage the general ledger, ensuring proper account classifications, accurate entries, and timely reconciliations.
- Accounts Payable and Receivable - Supervise and manage accounts payable and receivable to ensure proper cash flow and adherence to payment terms.
- Budgeting and Forecasting - Assist in the development of the annual budget and periodic forecasts, providing detailed analysis to support decision-making.
- Audit and Compliance - Prepare for internal and external audits, ensuring all financial records comply with accounting standards (GAAP), tax laws, and regulatory requirements.
- Cost Control - Perform financial analysis to identify trends, discrepancies, and areas for cost reduction and operational improvements.
- Staff Oversight - Provide guidance to junior accounting staff, ensuring adherence to best practices and company standards.
- Month-End and Year-End Closing - Manage the month-end and year-end closing processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness.
- Process Improvement - Identify and implement improvements to accounting systems, workflows, and financial reporting.
Preferred Experience of Senior Accountant:
- Accuracy and Timeliness - Ensuring financial reports are accurate and submitted on time.
- Collaboration - Working closely with other departments to support strategic business decisions.
- Cost Optimization - Identifying cost-saving opportunities through detailed financial analysis.
- Compliance - Ensuring the company adheres to all relevant financial regulations and standards.
- Leadership and Mentorship - Providing mentorship to junior accounting staff and fostering a collaborative team environment.
Preferred experience of Senior Accountant:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the construction or service industry.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, and financial reporting standards.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
