The Senior Accountant will play a pivotal role in managing the day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate financial reporting, supporting month-end and year-end close processes, and contributing to budgeting and forecasting efforts. Prepare and review monthly financial statements and management reports
Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations
Manage general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with GAAP
Oversee inventory accounting and reconcile cost of goods sold (COGS)
Analyze sales, margin, and expense variances across retail channels (in-store, inventory, e-commerce)
Support budgeting and forecasting processes, collaborating with merchandising and operations teams
Monitor and ensure compliance with internal controls and corporate accounting policies
Partner with external auditors during year-end audits and assist with tax compliance
Contribute to process improvements and automation initiatives within the accounting function
Mentor junior accountants and provide guidance on best practices
Profile
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred
5+ years of progressive accounting experience, preferably in retail or consumer goods
Strong understanding of retail accounting principles, inventory systems, and cost accounting
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, or Oracle) and Microsoft Excel
Excellent analytical skills, attention to detail, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively across teams
