We're seeking a dynamic, highly-skilled Senior Accountant who is eager to make a significant impact and help drive the firm's growth. Key Responsibilities
As a Senior Accountant at Miller & Company, you'll be a key contributor to our success. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Prepare and file complex, multistate tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries (trusts and estates).
- Manage payroll and sales tax filings, including issuing 1099 forms.
- Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for clients.
- Conduct detailed audits to ensure the accuracy of financial records
- Handle and respond to notices from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
- Provide research and resolution for client tax inquiries.
- Oversee and regularly monitor bookkeeping and account reconciliation processes.
- Reconcile accounts using QuickBooks Desktop (QB) and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
- Be prepared to work extended hours during tax season to meet deadlines.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- 5-7 years of professional experience in public accounting (CPA firm).
- A bachelor's degree in accounting (BS/BA) is a plus
- CPA certification is a plus
- A highly motivated, ethical, with proactive approach to work.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, taxation, auditing, and budgeting processes.
- Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
- Proficiency with MS Office and QuickBooks; familiarity with UltraTax and other Thomson Reuters software is a plus.
