Key Responsibilities

As a Senior Accountant at Miller & Company, you'll be a key contributor to our success. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare and file complex, multistate tax returns for individuals, corporations, partnerships, and fiduciaries (trusts and estates).
  • Manage payroll and sales tax filings, including issuing 1099 forms.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements for clients.
  • Conduct detailed audits to ensure the accuracy of financial records
  • Handle and respond to notices from the IRS and other taxing authorities.
  • Provide research and resolution for client tax inquiries.
  • Oversee and regularly monitor bookkeeping and account reconciliation processes.
  • Reconcile accounts using QuickBooks Desktop (QB) and QuickBooks Online (QBO).
  • Be prepared to work extended hours during tax season to meet deadlines.


The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 5-7 years of professional experience in public accounting (CPA firm).
  • A bachelor's degree in accounting (BS/BA) is a plus
  • CPA certification is a plus
  • A highly motivated, ethical, with proactive approach to work.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of bookkeeping, taxation, auditing, and budgeting processes.
  • Excellent analytical skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and QuickBooks; familiarity with UltraTax and other Thomson Reuters software is a plus.
