Salary: $150,000 - $190,000 per year

Are you a legal professional with a passion for municipal law and a background in the public sector? We are seeking a Permanent Municipal Advisory Associate to join our dynamic team. This is a unique opportunity to apply your expertise in the Brown Act, Public Records Act, Conflict of Interest, and Land Use in a challenging and rewarding role. You will be a key player in advising our municipal clients on a wide range of legal issues, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, and helping to shape local government policy. This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the legal industry.
Responsibilities:
As a Permanent Municipal Advisory Associate, you will:
1. Provide expert advice on the Brown Act, Public Records Act, Conflict of Interest, and Land Use to municipal clients.
2. Review and interpret legal documents, including contracts, resolutions, and ordinances.
3. Develop and implement best practices for compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
4. Represent clients in administrative hearings and court proceedings as necessary.
5. Conduct legal research and prepare legal opinions on a wide range of municipal law issues.
6. Collaborate with other legal professionals to develop and implement strategic legal solutions.
7. Provide training to clients and staff on legal issues and best practices.
Qualifications:
Successful candidates for the Permanent Municipal Advisory Associate position will have:
1. Juris Doctorate from an accredited law school.
2. Admission to the State Bar.
3. A minimum of 5+ years of experience in the legal industry, with a focus on municipal law.
4. Expert knowledge of the Brown Act, Public Records Act, Conflict of Interest, and Land Use.
5. Excellent legal research and writing skills.
6. Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
7. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
8. A commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.
