Position Summary:
AMPYR Energy USA (AMPYR) is seeking Senior Accountant, to join our growing team in North America focusing on the rapidly growing renewable energy sector. The role offers the opportunity to work in a growth environment offering a path to career development, working for a joint venture created between two large multinational parent companies. We are looking for an individual with relevant experience to address the role entailing maintaining and overseeing the general ledger for the company, providing US GAAP financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, and developing and modifying control processes as the company grows.
Responsibilities:
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- US GAAP financial and management accounting for the US business including project SPVs, holding companies and management companies.
- Accounts payable management
- oversee a/p invoice and payment entry
- oversee a/p document management
- oversee corporate credit card reconciliation
- facilitate invoice approvals
- vendor communication
- Near term cash management - bank balance monitoring, cash transfers
- Monthly closing activities including journal entries and account reconciliations
- Monthly, quarterly and annual consolidated and consolidating financial statement preparation including balance sheet, statement of operations and indirect method statement of cashflows
- Budget v actual report preparation.
- Management accounts preparation.
- Some understanding of US GAAP, especially lease accounting
- Support with sales and use tax, corporate income tax preparation and tax inspections.
- Liaising with the external auditor for the consolidated group audit.
- Assisting with the continual development of the financial reporting systems and accounting processes
Qualifications, Education and Experience:
- At least 3-4 years work experience with top or mid-tier accounting firm or 5-7 years experience as a senior accountant
- Energy industry or real estate experience is beneficial
- Strong Excel
- SharePoint experience is beneficial
- Familiarity with accounting software systems
- NetSuite is preferred but not required
