Responsibilities:
- Assist the Accounting Manager with daily and monthly financial reporting for a portfolio of over 1,500 leases.
- Set up newly commenced leases in lease management software, ensuring accurate billing and compliance with ASC 842.
- Work closely with the Real Estate team to review lease terms and manage landlord property tax reimbursements.
- Partner with the operations team on procurement activities, utility setup, and billing processes.
- Conduct property tax research and handle reimbursements for landlord tax bills.
- Prepare journal entries with proper supporting calculations and documentation.
- Review journal entries and reconciliations prepared by staff accountants for accuracy and completeness.
- Reconcile key accounts such as prepaid insurance, escrows, goodwill, accounts payable, and accruals.
- Analyze monthly income statement variances and provide insights on financial performance.
- Compile supporting documentation for monthly management reports and key business metrics.
- Assist the Accounts Receivable specialist with reconciliations, reporting, and various analyses.
- Ensure adherence to accounting policies, procedures, and best practices.
- Develop and enhance reports to track and measure business performance.
- Provide ad hoc financial reporting and analysis as needed.
- Collaborate with internal teams to identify opportunities for process improvements, efficiency gains, and enhanced data accuracy.
- Support annual audits and tax compliance efforts.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or other business-related field
- 3 years of accounting experience
- CPA preferred (or in progress)
- Strong MS Office skills, especially Excel, and accounting software and databases (NetSuite experience a plus)
- Ability to manipulate, analyze data to assess its accuracy and completeness.
- Experience with preparation of balance sheet reconciliations for more complex accounts.
- Strong communication, time management and organization skills
Salary target $80-85K
