As a
Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing and recording journal entries, maintaining accurate product costing, and managing group consolidation for North American value streams. This role requires strong technical accounting expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. This is a hybrid position requiring a minimum of 60% in-office work and up to 10% travel.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan and execute work to deliver accurate financial statements, narratives, and supporting schedules in accordance with monthly closing schedules.
- Manage month-end close for multiple value streams, including journal entry preparation and ensuring closing deadlines are met.
- Analyze and reconcile general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and appropriate supporting documentation.
- Maintain and update accounting journals, ledgers, and other financial records.
- Coordinate with foreign entity accountants to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Work across various accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable (AR), Accounts Payable (AP), Fixed Assets, and Inventory.
- Organize and monitor work processes to meet department objectives.
- Assist in implementing and maintaining internal financial controls and procedures.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts.
- Prepare comparative evaluations of actual costs versus budgeted costs and provide variance analysis.
- Provide financial support to other departments as needed.
- Participate in the annual audit process.
- Complete special analyses and projects assigned by the Finance Manager or VP of Finance.
- Contribute to process improvements and best practices.
Qualifications:- Bachelor's degree in Accounting with 4+ years of relevant experience.
- Strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Experience with General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and team-based month-end close processes.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook; experience with large ERP systems and consolidations software preferred
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Must be able to work in-office at least 60% of the time.
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual's skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: $75-100k per year. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company's 401(k) retirement plan.
