Position Summary:

The Senior Accountant plays a critical role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of the company's financial reporting. This position is responsible for applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) to analyze financial data, prepare reports, and support the monthly and annual close processes. In addition, the Senior Accountant supports the design and maintenance of internal controls, contributes to process improvements, and assists with audit readiness. As a key member of the Finance team, the Senior Accountant reports directly to the Corporate Controller and serves as a resource and mentor to junior accounting staff.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting;
    • CPA certification preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting or audit
  • Solid understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworks
  • Experience with ERP systems and Blackline (or similar account reconciliation tools)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis tools
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines with accuracy and efficiency

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly general ledger close process, including preparation of journal entries and account reconciliations using Blackline
  • Support the annual audit by preparing accurate and timely deliverables, ensuring compliance with all audit requirements
  • Maintain and enhance internal control documentation and assist with testing to ensure operational effectiveness
  • Monitor and validate the accuracy of balance sheet accounts and investigate variances and discrepancies
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to improve accounting processes and ensure proper documentation
  • Analyze and reconcile intercompany transactions to ensure consistency with parent and affiliated entities
  • Prepare financial reports and analyses for senior management, providing insights to support decision-making
  • Present recommendations for process enhancements and control improvements
  • Provide guidance and review the work of junior accounting staff as assigned
  • Lead or support special projects and initiatives as directed by Finance leadership
