Senior Accountant Our client that is a property management and real estate developer both locally and nationwide is looking for a Senior Accountant who will play a key role in the financial operations and reporting. This position will start with a focus on core accounting tasks and gradually transition into more technical responsibilities. Key duties include:
Responsibilities - Prepare and post journal entries, including accruals, for accurate financial reporting.
- Perform bank reconciliations and oversee cash management processes.
- Assist with financial reporting and analysis, including cash flow management and monthly close processes.
- Support the 30-day close process for complex financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Maintain the fixed assets register and assist with related accounting.
- Provide backup support for the MRI system and collaborate with internal and property teams.
- Utilize tools like Argus, Excel, AvidXchange, and Spreadsheet Server to streamline reporting and data analysis.
- Collaborate with the asset management and property teams to support operations, including entities like Camp David and other properties.
- Work closely with the tax and cost accounting teams to ensure compliance and accuracy.
- Provide support for job costing and other accounting functions as needed.
Ideal qualifications for the Senior Accountant
- 3+ years of accounting experience, Bachelors Degree
- Strong background in real estate accounting, with experience managing complex portfolios that go beyond property management to include construction and multifaceted property operations.
- Proficiency with ERP systems; familiarity with MRI is a significant advantage.
- Demonstrated expertise as an Excel super user, including advanced formulas, data analysis, and integrations.
- Proven ability to navigate and handle the complexities of large-scale operations with numerous properties and diverse accounting requirements.
