Pacific Executive Search has been engaged on a search for a Senior Accountant role that offers you the chance to take on new responsibilities in real estate and project accounting while working closely with senior leadership in a vibrant West LA location. Responsibilities:
- Oversee the financial management of various projects at different stages, from pre-development to construction.
- Assist in the creation and oversight of project budgets.
- Maintain detailed project cost subledgers and ensure reconciliation with property accounting ledgers.
- Manage vendor contracts and invoice processing; collaborate with third-party property accountants to guarantee timely invoice payments.
- Conduct monthly analyses of cash availability across all properties.
- Prepare and submit loan draw request packages to lenders.
- Support the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial reporting packages for lenders and investors.
- Work closely with asset managers, property accountants, and other team members.
- Provide assistance for various special projects, including audit requests, tax reporting, and ad hoc management reports.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and accuracy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is preferred.
- CPA certification or progress towards it is desirable.
- 2-3 years of experience in real estate accounting with experience in project/job cost accounting.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks; familiarity with other accounting software is advantageous.
- Understanding of GAAP and principles of real estate investment accounting.
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and communication skills.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and capable of working independently as well as collaboratively in teams.
