Stable & expanding private company based in southeast Austin is seeking a Sr. Accountant for a key position. This individual will oversee hands-on, full-cycle accounting for multiple entities, while reporting to the Controller and working closely with many areas of the company. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for the following job duties:
- General ledger account reconciliations for multiple entities, including Cash accounts, fixed assets, inventory, along with liabilities, revenue, and expenses.
- Serving as a key participant in monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparing journal entries and accruals as needed.
- Assisting the Corporate Controller during the preparation of financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
- Oversight of A/P, A/R, and Payroll, while assisting with other areas as needed.
- Performing financial analysis of budget/forecast to actual results, and investigating significant variances.
- Working closely with external auditors during the annual audit process, along with compliance initiatives.
- Assisting with oversight of the accounting ERP system and other financial technology, while participating in system upgrades and maintenance.
- Taking on progressive team leadership duties, and eventually promoting to Accounting Manager while serving as a mentor, trainer, reviewer, and supervisor to a small team of staff.
To be considered, candidates should possess the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting is required.
- At least three (3+) years of accounting experience in a corporate environment.
- Prior experience with full-cycle accounting, including G/L oversight, account reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and financial statements.
- Previous background utilizing an ERP system such as Oracle, JD Edwards, MS Dynamics, etc.
- Prior exposure to accounting for multiple entities and locations is preferred, but not required.
- Solid understanding of GAAP, along with experience working with external Auditors.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to take on increasing levels of responsibility and team leadership duties.
