Senior Accountant Job Responsibilities:
- Lead accounting operations for the department, ensuring accurate financial reporting and budget management.
- Serve as the primary finance contact, overseeing annual budgeting and reforecasting.
- Collaborate with Finance, leaders, and stakeholders
- Manage monthly financial statements, variance analysis, and compliance deadlines.
- Prepare audit workpapers and assist with annual consolidated and single audits.
- Review and correct accounting transactions to ensure accurate project-level reporting.
- Work with Finance teams on board meeting preparations.
- Maintain expertise in grants, contracts, and non-profit financial operations.
Senior Accountant Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field.
- 5-10 years of accounting experience, including general ledger, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience with federal government grants & contracts.
- Strong analytical, communication, and time management skills.
- Ability to handle multiple deadlines and work both independently and collaboratively.
- Experience preparing annual budgets and 990 non-profit tax returns.
