Position: Senior Accountant

Reports to: Controller


LHH is seeking a dedicated Senior Accountant to join a family office foundation. The ideal candidate will thrive in a mission-driven environment, contributing to impactful initiatives and supporting the foundation's goals. The position is a blend of 75% accounting and 25% administrative work.


Salary Range: $100k- $110k

This position is 5 days in-office.


75% Accounting:

  1. Take responsibility for coordinating the accounts payable process including:
  • Receive and organize vendor invoices.
  • Manage communications with vendors.
  • Obtain invoice authorization from the appropriate party.
  • Determine proper general ledger coding.
  • Prepare all accounts payable subledger entries.
  • Prepare check or electronic payments.
  • Ensure timely payment of vendor invoices.
  1. Assist in maintaining various schedules of financial assets, including, but not limited to, fair market values and other relevant metrics (income, etc.).
  2. Assist in activities necessary to complete the financial close of all entities, including recording investment and operational activity.
  3. Assist in preparation of tax work papers and coordinate with outside accountants regarding the preparation of tax returns and tax estimates.
  4. Prepare 1099 Forms.
  5. Prepare a monthly reconciliation for every bank account.
  6. Assist in administering grant-making activities (including non-environmental organizations).
  7. Communicate with a wide range of personnel, including caretakers of the President's residences.
  8. Prepare various general ledger reconciliations and analyses as needed.
  9. Provide clerical and administrative support to management as requested.
  10. Maintain an orderly accounting filing system.

25% Administrative:

  1. Monitor and prioritize a high volume of incoming business, non-profit, social, and personal phone calls, e-mails, and correspondence.
  2. Maintain an extremely detailed and busy calendar filled with business, non-profit, social, and family commitments.
  3. Create and manage extensive domestic and international travel itineraries, including booking all reservations, investigating travel options, and accommodating last-minute changes.
  4. Arrange appointments, plan meetings, and conference calls, with responsibility for coordinating accompanying materials.

Travel Requirements: Must be comfortable with traveling to South America.
