We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming and inclusive school in St Helens. This rewarding role involves working closely with students who require additional support to reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide one-to-one and small group support to pupils with a range of special educational needs (including autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, and learning delays)
Assist the class teacher in creating a positive, engaging, and supportive learning environment
Contribute to the development and implementation of individual education plans (IEPs)
Monitor student progress and provide feedback to staff and parents
Help manage behaviour in line with school policies and positive behaviour strategies
Support pupils with personal care needs, if required
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Experience working with children with SEN, either in a school, nursery, or care setting
A calm, nurturing, and proactive approach
Strong communication and teamwork skills
A relevant qualification (e.g. CACHE Level 2/3, TA qualification) is desirable but not essential
An enhanced DBS on the update service, or willingness to obtain one
