  • Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
  • Hours: 8:30am to 3:30pm
  • Contract: Long-Term with Temp-to-Perm Potential

Long Term Futures is working in partnership with a nurturing junior school in Kings Norton to appoint an SEN Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage One team this September. This long-term role offers the potential for a permanent position for the right candidate.

Role Overview

You'll be providing 1:1 support for a child transitioning into Year Two with complex needs, including:

  • Pre-verbal communication and non-verbal cues
  • Challenging behaviour requiring structure and consistency
  • Personal care needs, including toileting and hygiene support
  • Supporting emotional regulation through visual aids, now/next boards, and movement breaks
  • Working closely with the class teacher and SENCO to adapt lessons, manage transitions, and embed consistent routines

We'd love to hear from you if you:

  • Have experience supporting children with complex SEN (e.g. Autism, communication needs, sensory regulation, personal care)
  • Are confident using positive behaviour strategies and de-escalation techniques
  • Are familiar with the KS1 curriculum in mainstream settings
  • Hold a relevant TA qualification or SEN-related training
  • Thrive as part of a collaborative and nurturing team
