About the Role:
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Secondary English Teacher to join our inclusive and supportive team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and differentiated English lessons to students with a range of special educational needs, helping them to achieve their potential both academically and personally.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver creative and accessible English lessons tailored to students with SEN.
Develop individual education plans (IEPs) in collaboration with the SENCO and support staff.
Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to meet diverse learning needs.
Monitor student progress and provide regular feedback to students, parents, and colleagues.
Foster a safe, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, and external agencies.
Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, and whole-school development initiatives.
Requirements:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
Experience teaching English at the secondary level, ideally in an SEN or inclusive setting.
Strong understanding of various special educational needs, including ASD, ADHD, and learning difficulties.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Commitment to inclusive education and differentiated teaching.
Desirable:
SEN-specific qualifications or training (e.g., NASENCo, TEACCH, Makaton).
Experience with assistive technology or alternative communication methods.
