Semiconductor Laser Design Engineer located in
Richardson TX The ideal candidate will have a Masters or PhD degree in Engineering or Physics and a minimum of 3-5 years' experience in laser design and fabrication with compound semiconductors
As a
Semiconductor Laser Design Engineer, you will:
- Perform a variety of functions to support the design, analysis, and optimization of new and existing laser designs
- Provide feedback to Engineering and Wafer Fab to validate designs and perform optimization of DBR semiconductor laser diodes.
- Perform design and layout of new photomasks as required to support Wafer Fab and Engineering as required.
- Document procedures for design and analysis of current and future laser designs
You will need the following to succeed in this role:- Masters or PhD degree in Engineering or Physics
- 3-5 years' experience in laser design and fabrication with compound semiconductors
- Experience with 2D and 3D laser modelling, design, and analysis of single spatial mode edge-emitting lasers
- Experience with semiconductor laser modelling, analysis methods and software
- Experience with design and analysis of DBR and / or DFB diffractive waveguide structures
- Familiar with 2D laser design software, simulation tools, and methods
- Familiar with the GaN / AlGaN materials system a plus
- Familiar with variation of parameters simulations as part of laser and waveguide design processes
- Familiar with diode laser fabrication and test to validate designs
- Familiar with semiconductor manufacturing and metrology equipment and processes
- Familiar with laser diode test equipment and processes
- Familiar with photomask layout software a plus
Pay Rate: $48.00 - $58.00 per hour
