SEMH Teaching Assistant

Aspire People are seeking a caring and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Southwark. This is an exciting opportunity to support pupils with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs across KS1 and KS2, helping them succeed both in and out of the classroom.
SEMH Teaching Assistant - about the school:

SEMH Teaching Assistant - key responsibilities:
Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with SEMH needs
Support classroom learning and promote emotional regulation strategies
Work closely with class teachers, the SENDCo, and external professionals
Help build pupils' confidence, independence, and social skill
Encourage positive behaviour and engagement in learning
SEMH Teaching Assistant - requirements:
A recent degree in Psychology or a related field
Experience supporting children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school or youth work)
Calm, compassionate, and proactive approach to behaviour management
Strong communication and teamwork skills
Relevant qualifications (e.g. Team Teach, CACHE, Mental Health First Aid) are an advantage
