Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Security Technologies Installation Technician to join our growing team. This hands-on role involves installing, testing, commissioning, and servicing a range of electronic security systems. Ideal candidates will have a solid technical background, strong field experience, and the ability to work effectively in dynamic environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Install, terminate, test, and commission security system components, including:
- Rack-mounted access control panels and power supplies
- Card readers (proximity, keypad, biometric, mullion)
- Door/gate contacts, audible sounders, and key cabinets
- Turnstiles, IP cameras, camera mounts, and video intercoms
- Glass break detectors, beacons, strobes, media converters, Ethernet extenders
- Surge suppressors, cable restraints, and bracing systems
- Diagnose and repair electronic security systems, including video surveillance and access control solutions.
- Interpret construction drawings, technical documents, and system schematics.
- Conduct routine system maintenance and ensure compliance with NEC, IBC, and industry standards.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and fellow technicians to deliver seamless solutions.
- Provide end-user training and system support as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and site documentation.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Proven experience as a low-voltage or security technician.
- Strong understanding of electronic security systems, computer/network hardware, and software applications.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, schematics, and construction plans.
- Familiarity with locksmithing principles is a plus.
- Excellent troubleshooting skills, clear communication, and a collaborative mindset.
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently or within a team.
