In the role of Security Systems Engineer at Polyteck, you will play a crucial part in safeguarding our clients' properties through the installation, maintenance, and optimisation of security systems. This position offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects across Greater London, including some of the city's most iconic buildings. Key Responsibilities: As a Security Systems Engineer at Polyteck, you will be responsible for:
  • Installing, commissioning, and maintaining a wide range of security systems, including Access Control, CCTV, Door Entry, Intruder alarms, Gates, and Barriers.
  • Conducting efficient planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive services.
  • Ensuring effective project management, including labour allocation and resource coordination.
  • Performing reactive call-outs and repairs to security systems, both during and outside regular working hours.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation, including job sheets and on-site logbooks.
  • Liaising with customers and tenants to manage expectations and ensure satisfaction.
  • Complying with Health and Safety regulations and conducting risk assessments.
  • Contributing to team innovation and continuous improvement of procedures.
Qualifications and Requirements of a Security Systems Engineer: The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • On-site experience - 1st, 2nd fix Wiring, Fault Finding and commissioning
  • Proficiency in Access Control systems (e.g., Paxton 10, Paxton Net 2, Impro PAC).
  • Experience with CCTV systems (e.g., Hikvision, Dahua, Samsung), including both analogue and IP systems.
  • Knowledge of Intruder Alarm systems (e.g., Texecom, Galaxy, Pyronix).
  • Familiarity with various entryphone systems (e.g., Comelit, BPT, Videx, and Fermax).
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • A valid UK driving licence.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current with industry trends.
  • To be able to work unsupervised.
