Security Specialist Arlington VA (Rosslyn) - Fully Onsite POSITION SUMMARY We are seeking a highly skilled Security Specialist to oversee physical security and associated force protection programs at the Defense Healthcare Management Systems (DHMS) Headquarters in Rosslyn, VA. This is a fully onsite role, responsible for maintaining compliance with Department of Defense (DoD), DHA, Pentagon Force Protection Agency (PFPA), and Federal Protection Services (FPS) requirements related to Antiterrorism (AT), Physical Security, Occupant Emergency Management, and Insider Threat Programs. This position requires strong knowledge of DoD AT policy, UFC and ISC standards, and experience writing and briefing security-related policies. The individual will also assist in facilities management duties, including space readiness, work order tracking, and suite access coordination. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and capable of providing expert-level briefings and emergency preparedness training. This is a fully on-site role (Monday to Friday, 8AM-4PM). JOB RESPONSIBILITIES Security Operations & Compliance Serve as the onsite lead for all DHMS security-related programs Maintain and manage the following security programs: Antiterrorism (AT) Program Physical Security Program Occupant Emergency Program Operations Security (OPSEC) Program Insider Threat Program Conduct daily facility security checks across multiple floors Ensure compliance with DoD AT policy, UFC, ISC, DMDC, PFPA, FPS, and DHA regulations Provide briefings and training to leadership and staff on AT and force protection policy Facilitate and lead security working groups, brief leadership on complex security matters Draft, edit, and implement written guidance, SOPs, emergency procedures, and force protection policies Coordinate with internal/external stakeholders on physical access, emergency response, and security audits Provide/facilitate DHMS staff security training and emergency notifications as needed Respond to alarms, incidents, and reports of suspicious activity; escalate and document as appropriate Support higher-headquarters inspections and audits from PFPA, Client, DHA, and related agencies Maintain knowledge and compliance with Force Protection Conditions (FPCON) and Random Antiterrorism Measures (RAM) Facilities Management Support Perform walkthroughs to ensure suites, offices, and common areas are operational and presentable Monitor and coordinate work orders with building management (e.g., HVAC, electrical, plumbing) Manage seat reservation application and coordinate suite access for guests, contractors, and staff Oversee entry access controls and suite security systems Support setup and readiness of conference rooms for onsite meetings and visitors Administrative & Operational Duties Provide regular security updates to leadership Maintain documentation and ensure secure storage of sensitive materials Collaborate with local emergency responders and participate in security drills and tabletop exercises Handle other security or facility-related tasks as assigned Perform special projects and/or other duties as assigned or required. BASIC JOB REQUIREMENTS 5 years of relevant experience in security operations and physical facility oversight Strong familiarity with DoD AT policy, UFC/ISC standards, PFPA/FPS rules, and security compliance audits Exceptional communication, verbal, briefing, and technical writing skills Experience managing complex security programs in a DoD/government environment Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance and AT Level II Certification Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, SharePoint, and government security portals U.S. Citizenship required KEY COMPETENCIES Self-starter with excellent time management and task prioritization skills Demonstrated leadership and organizational abilities Able to work independently and within cross-functional teams Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with high-level leadership and external partners Exceptional judgment and decision-making in high-pressure situations Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to handle sensitive and confidential information Marathon TS is committed to the development of a creative, diverse and inclusive work environment.
