CONTEXT: The Security Project Manager is responsible for managing the complete life cycle of moderately-to-highly complex security projects, including approval, planning, estimating, execution, and closeout. The ideal candidate will demonstrate exceptional
leadership skills and possess an extensive background in the
security industry, specifically in
access control systems. The goal is to ensure planned results are successfully achieved in a timely manner.
RESPONSIBILITIES: - Supervise and assist with the design, installation, maintenance, and documentation of security projects.
- Develop and stay within budgets and timelines, ensuring progress aligns with project plans, while tracking critical project achievements.
- Perform surveys, price new projects, attend meetings, and propose solutions to installation issues.
- Manage installation, technical, and subcontract employees effectively.
- Direct project scheduling, coordinate with trades, and oversee financial management.
- Manage workers at project sites, ensuring timely completion of work.
- Service new and existing customers, communicating project status to the Senior Project Manager.
- Build and maintain appropriate customer service relationships.
- Train technicians and facilitate learning in the field.
- Maintain relationships with vendors and customers to establish and achieve goals.
- Act as the single point of contact for project status, maintaining communication with stakeholders.
- Manage all assigned projects to completion, ensuring on-time delivery, adherence to budgetary demands, and overall project ownership.
- Provide research and leadership in the development and design of new projects.
- Manage project status and information through formal briefings, project update meetings, and the use of current internal systems.
- Coordinate with other work streams, projects, and initiatives that may impact successful project completion.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel while maintaining oversight.
- Ensure timely project-related invoicing in compliance with company and client processes.
- Conduct regular project team meetings to address action items and project schedules.
- Make recommendations for positive and negative personnel actions for those under direct supervision.
- Coordinate and manage project turnover.
QUALIFICATIONS: - High school diploma or GED.
- 5+ years of installation and field experience, particularly in security systems.
- At least 2 years of Project Management experience.
- Capable of reading blueprints and associated building information.
- Ability to rapidly understand business objectives and combine them with a deep understanding of project management to create, sell, and drive effective solutions.
- Demonstrated reliability in meeting customer requests and project deadlines.
- Strategic thinker and problem solver with a proven track record of delivering projects within time and budget while exceeding customer expectations.
- Leader who can align, direct, motivate, and grow teams and client relationships.
