Security Operations Engineer

Job description Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Information Systems Security Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for protecting our organization's IT infrastructure and ensuring the security of sensitive data. You will work closely with various departments to implement security measures, conduct risk assessments, and respond to security incidents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of security protocols, cloud services, and networking principles. Duties Develop and implement security policies and procedures to safeguard information systems. Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities. Manage Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) to ensure appropriate access levels across systems. Collaborate with IT teams to maintain secure IT infrastructure and ensure compliance with industry standards such as ITIL. Monitor network traffic for suspicious activity and respond promptly to security breaches. Utilize tools such as FTP, HTTPS, and SOAP for secure data transmission. Write and maintain Shell Scripts for automation of security tasks. Participate in incident response planning and execution during security events. Provide training and support to staff on security best practices. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Proven experience in information systems security engineering or a similar role. Strong knowledge of IP networking concepts and protocols. Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and security features. Experience with Platform as a Service (PaaS) solutions is a plus. Excellent analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues effectively. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for effective collaboration across teams.
