Travel: Daily - Green Bay Campus


LOCATION: Green Bay

STANDARD HOURS: 37.5 Hours per week; Typical hours Monday-Friday 3:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m.

PAY RANGE: $18.98 - $20.46 per hour

Salaries/Wages for all finalists (internal and external) will be placed within the range based upon education, experiences, current wages, and internal equity.


POSITION SUMMARY

As the Primary Contact for security service calls, the security officer will patrol and monitor premises using the Community Policing Model to prevent theft, violence, and ensure access to classrooms and buildings. The security officer will respond to medical and other emergency calls, investigate complaints, complete incident reports, and enforce parking violations.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other people to guard against theft and maintain security of premises.

  • Investigate and document incidents such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, injuries, accidents, or unusual occurrences.

  • Call police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized people.

  • Monitor security surveillance systems to ensure operational use.

  • Provide requested services such as medical care (basic first aid, CPR, AED), security escorts, vehicle assistance, and access to buildings, offices, and classrooms.

  • Monitor and enforces parking violations.

  • Monitor department inventory and secures replacement as needed.

  • Handle incoming phone calls and resolve issues.

  • Perform routine inspections of life safety equipment (e.g. fire extinguishers, AEDs, first aid kits).

  • Provide training for part-time officers.

  • Assist with development of training materials.

  • Assist with Maintenance of security vehicles & equipment.

  • Assist with campus events set up, management, and tear down.


MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND WORK EXPERIENCE

  • High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)

  • A minimum of two years related experience.

  • Microsoft Word and Excel

  • CPR/AED certification or the ability to become certified within six months of employment

  • Must hold a valid driver's license and be insurable under the district's standard insurance policy terms.

An equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience as a certified law enforcement officer is preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Mobility: Ability to move around the campus to attend meetings and events. In addition, must be able to work in, on, around, over and under fixed equipment and machinery. May be required to work from lifts, ladders, and scaffolding.

  • Manual Dexterity: Proficiency in using hands and fingers to handle or operate office equipment, tools, controls, and/or heavy equipment and machinery. Capability to push, pull, and/or maneuver equipment as needed.

  • PPE: To wear and work in personnel protective equipment as needed

  • Heavy Lifting: Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly, and occasionally up to 100 pounds with assistance.

  • Visual and Auditory: Ability to read documents and communicate effectively with students and staff.
