05/18/2025 The Delran Township School District, a K-12 district committed to excellence and innovation, is accepting applications for a Security Manager. The district seeks to appoint a Security Manager who will oversee and monitor the safety and well-being of students, faculty and staff at school sites within the campus. In cooperation with school administration, the Security Manager will enforce applicable district policy and regulations and assist in the maintenance of an orderly and safe school environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manage outsource services including security guards, school safety platforms, and other partnerships utilized by the district for the purposes of school safety.
  • In conjunction with the District's School Safety Specialist, evaluate the district Safety and Security Program and determine the necessary added resources to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Facilitate, along with school/district administration, implementation of the Crisis Response Plan including facilitating drills and emergency response procedures.
  • Collaborate and assist building administrators to report to local law enforcement all incidents as directed in the Uniform State Memorandum of Agreement, (MOA) between Education and Law Enforcement Officials.
  • Facilitate the processing and administration of the student, staff and visitor sign in and identification systems.
  • Operate, maintain and review the school district buildings video security system as required.
  • Work collaboratively with staff, school personnel, and others for the purpose of gathering information regarding verification of residency.
  • Research and investigate residency information using available technological, home visits and appropriate investigative resources. Promptly and diligently investigate allegations and keep records.
  • Pursue tips and conduct proactive investigations to verify residency.
  • Maintain inventory and distribute staff communication devices.
  • Monitor school grounds, control access to the building, assist in emergency situations, and collaborate with school personnel to maintain a safe learning environment.
  • Respond to incidents, enforce school policies and regulations, and provide support during drills or crises.
  • At the request of building administration, submits Probable Cause Statements and represents the district at court hearings for truancy complaints.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Retired law enforcement preferred with valid VPO (Retired Police Officer Carry Permit)
  • Resident of New Jersey and possess a valid New Jersey driver's license.
  • High School Diploma
  • Must possess strong interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, administration, parents and community and can communicate responsibly with students, colleagues and school leadership.
