We are looking for a dependable, technically inclined Entry-Level Low Voltage & Security Technician to join our growing team. This role will involve assisting with the installation, programming, and servicing of security systems including structured cabling, access control, intrusion systems, video surveillance, and small-scale network deployments. You'll be trained to use modern tools and software, including our internal CRM system, while learning from seasoned technicians in real-world environments.
Key Responsibilities Installation & Service - Install, terminate, and test Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optics, and other structured cabling.
- Assist with installation of CCTV, access control, intrusion/burglar alarm systems, and emerging smart security technology.
- Mount and wire cameras, sensors, door hardware, and control panels.
- Aid in small network deployments including routers, switches, and network racks.
System Support & Maintenance - Help test and program installed hardware (e.g., adding cameras, card readers, sensors).
- Perform preventive maintenance per service agreements and warranty schedules.
- Support troubleshooting and basic diagnostics under supervision.
Project Coordination & Reporting - Communicate job status, equipment needs, and material usage daily to the team lead.
- Participate in on-call rotation, responding to after-hours service needs as scheduled.
- Accurately track all work hours, internal tasks, and client-facing activities.
Expectation of Workday As an entry-level security & low voltage technician, you can expect to start your day reviewing job assignments and preparing tools and materials with your team. You'll travel to job sites to assist with installing or servicing structured cabling, surveillance, access control, or alarm systems. Throughout the day, you'll work under the guidance of senior technicians, learning hands-on while ensuring work is completed safely and accurately. You'll wrap up by documenting progress, reporting to your lead, and prepping for the next day's tasks.

Physical & Environmental Requirements - Ability to sit, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb ladders/scaffolding.
- Vision acuity to work with small, color-coded wires and detailed hardware.
- Exposure to moderate to loud noise levels and varying outdoor conditions.
- Required use of PPE provided by the company.
Qualifications & Skills - High school diploma or GED required; vocational training or technical coursework preferred.
- Familiarity with CCTV, intrusion, access control, and alarm systems are a plus.
- Basic understanding of IP networking is desirable.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and cable testing devices.
- Comfortable climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, and lifting up to 150 lbs.
- Must hold a valid driver's license and meet insurability standards.

With time, experience, and training, you can grow into a Lead Technician role, taking more responsibility on job sites and helping guide newer team members. From there, you may move into Project Leadership or Operations Support, where you'll play a key role in shaping how we deliver and support our services.
