Job Description: Under the leadership of the Senior IT Security Manager, the Security Engineer will be responsible for the comprehensive architecture, engineering, implementation and monitoring of advanced security solutions and technologies. This role is crucial in safeguarding the confidentiality, availability, reliability and integrity of the organization's systems and data within a dynamic computing environment. The Security Engineer will develop and enforce security standards, policies and procedures, and will be an integral part of the IT security engineering team. This position demands exceptional technical competence and a strong background in designing enterprise security architecture and developing cyber security protection initiatives.
Specialization The Security Engineer will focus on the installation, design, configuration, securing, maintenance, and support of cloud, virtual and physical Security Systems. This role specializes in Software Security Devices such as Email Filter, DLP, Antivirus, Malware, Logging, Packet Inspection, System Vulnerability, Identity Systems, and other security devices. Expertise in UEBA, CASB, Sandboxing, and syslog technologies is essential. Additionally, the role encompasses security operations, such as monitoring and reporting of cyber security threats.
Job Responsibilities: - Collaborate with the Senior IT Security Manager to recommend products, services, protocols, and standards in support of cybersecurity projects.
- Review Firewalls configurations and policies.
- Manage secure privileged accounts and credentials.
- Utilize Varonis for monitoring and securing unstructured data.
- Leverage DLP product to implement data governance, data classification, and policies.
- Implement and manage Azure Security tools, including Defender, Sentinel, and Identity Protection, Security Center, and Azure Policy to secure cloud workloads and identities.
- Design and enforce Azure network security configurations, including NSGs, ASGs, and Azure Firewall.
- Perform regular risk assessments and implement measures to mitigate identified threats within Azure environments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design secure Azure systems and applications.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations such as HIPAA and HITECH.
- Support incident response activities, including investigation, root cause analysis, and mitigation.
- Ensure the security, integrity, and availability of the organization's cybersecurity products.
- Utilize cybersecurity expertise to support networks, datacenter, and cloud infrastructure.
- Work with IT departments on vulnerability remediation plans and processes.
- Serve as a technical and functional subject matter expert across multiple security domains, raising awareness and communicating security risks within the organization and with partners and vendors.
- Provide Tier-3 escalation engineer support for daily operational issues.
- Demonstrate advanced knowledge of IT audit and control, governance, and technical writing and documentation.
Required Experience and Professional Skills: - 8+ years of experience in security engineering or related roles
- Strong expertise with Firewalls, MFA, DLP, Syslog and Azure Security
- In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity principles, risk management, and regulatory requirements for healthcare (e.g., HIPAA, HITECH)
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network security, IAM, PAM, and cloud security tools
- Strong analytical, communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to resolve problems professionally and systematically.
- Experience in securing the cloud, disaster recovery planning, high-availability, backup, recovery, and continuity solutions.
- Preferred experience in healthcare and security technology services.
- Knowledge of web, mobile, network, cloud, and application security engineering architecture and operations.
- Ability to provide support, assistance, and security technical guidance to Systems and Network Engineers in a tiered environment.
Required Education and Certifications - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field
- Industry security certification is a plus
Additional Information Salary: $135,000 - $150,000 Annual
