Systems Security Engineer (ISSE)
Location: Lorton, Virginia

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Systems Security Engineer to enhance our cybersecurity capabilities focusing primarily on cloud technologies and security tools. The ISSE will play a pivotal role in securing our cloud environments, primarily within Microsoft Azure, leveraging cutting-edge security tools and best practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement security solutions for cloud-based systems, emphasizing Azure security features and best practices.
  • Manage and optimize security tools and applications including ePO, Splunk, ACAS, WSUS, and Active Directory GPOs, ensuring robust cybersecurity posture through regular updates and configuration management.
  • Perform detailed audits and continuous monitoring of cloud infrastructures to identify security enhancements.
  • Develop and enforce cloud security policies to protect organizational data and ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Facilitate the integration of standardized security configurations and compliance guidelines, including STIG/SCAP, across system components.
  • Support Risk Management Framework (RMF) processes by providing technical expertise and recommendations to Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) and Information System Security Managers (ISSMs).
  • Collaborate with ISSOs and ISSMs to refine security measures and ensure comprehensive documentation of security controls and procedures.
  • Assist in the development of system recovery protocols and incident response strategies to minimize risks associated with security breaches and vulnerabilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5 - 8 years of proven performance in cybersecurity engineering, with a strong focus on cloud security and enterprise security tools.
  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance is required.
Requirements:
  • Proximity to Lorton, VA, or willingness to relocate.
  • Ability to work on-site and travel frequently as needed.
  • U.S. citizenship, as required by government contract stipulations.
