Summary:
Direct the successful overall daily operations of the Security Department. Ensure the safety and security of casino patrons and employees. Safeguard assets and property. Adhere to all laws, gaming regulations, internal controls and SOPs.
Responsibilities:
- Provides exceptional service to all guests, both internal and external, while also ensuring exceptional guest service is provided by department staff.
- Provide leadership and oversight to enable successful daily operations of the department, to include delegating and assigning work.
- Responsible for leading and managing a team, to include hiring, onboarding, training, setting performance expectations, conducting evaluations, coaching, and managing employee performance/conduct concerns as needed.
- Responsible for motivating and mentoring staff, promoting collaboration and teamwork, with the goal of fostering a team-first culture that best enables the success of both the individual and team.
- Responsible for staff scheduling to ensure adequate coverage based on business needs, managing time-off requests, and timely review/approval of payroll to ensure accurate pay of each team member.
- Creates and updates the public safety plan and property emergency plans
- Writes and revises department policies and procedures
- Establishes and maintains departmental goals
- Ensures that policies and procedures, laws, gaming regulations, internal controls and SOPs are followed
- Implements and updates policies and procedures for the security department
- Ensures that officers are properly trained, and provides for a culture of learning
- Determines shift assignments on a fair basis
- Establish and maintain liaison with law enforcement, EMS, and regulatory bodies
- Oversees that employees are trained in 1st aid, CPR and AED
- Maintains accurate and thorough departmental records and reports
- Accurately documents and maintains reports of incidents on property
- Disseminates incident reports as needed to department directors
- Prepare and manage the annual department budget.
- Ensures that all security equipment is accounted for, maintained, and working properly
- Responsible for the EM-R program
- Responsible for the property radio system
- Oversees the property key management system
- Maintains building door keys & locks, including design, installation, issuance, and record-keeping
- Handle guest claims by investigating incidents, filing insurance claims as needed, and assisting our insurance company
- Adheres to all laws, gaming regulations, internal controls and SOPs
- Participate in the Manager On Duty (MOD) program
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 5 years of prior security management experience, preferably in gaming environment
- Demonstrated skills in de-escalation and conflict management
- Must demonstrate outstanding leadership, organizational and planning skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products
- Must have the ability to obtain a Level 1 Nebraska Gaming License
Certificates & Licenses:
- Must be able to obtain a Level 1 Nebraska Gaming License
- Valid Driver's License
- 1st aid, CPR and AED certifications or ability to obtain
